The tariff method is particularly important, it determines how the tariff is applied.
With the tariff method you can choose from a number of options:
Calculate each shipment separately | Each shipment receives a tariff based on the tariff group |
Group shipments | The shipments are first added up and then given a tariff according to the tariff group |
Highest tariff + additional address surcharge | Only the shipment that receives the highest tariff will receive a price. This is the only method where a surcharge for additional loading/unloading addresses can be charged |
Group shipments... | Here are various options for grouping shipments |
Example - Group Shipments
There is 1 booking with 2 shipments: one shipment consists of 7 euro pallets and the other of 12 euro pallets.
We have the following tariff scale:
The price per unit (per Euro pallet) is EUR 21.55 for 1 to 2 pallets, EUR 19.40 for 3 to 5 pallets, etc.
If the tariff method is Calculate each shipment separately:
Shipment 1 (7 euro pallets) becomes 7 x EUR 17.24 = EUR 120.68
Shipment 2 (12 euro pallets) becomes 12 x EUR 13.30 = EUR 159.60
The booking will receive a tariff of EUR 280.28
If the tariff method is Group shipments:
The price is looked up for 7 + 12 = 19 units. This is EUR 13.30. So:
Shipment 1 (7 euro pallets) becomes 7 x EUR 13.30 = EUR 93.10
Shipment 2 (12 euro pallets) becomes 12 x 13.30 EUR = 159.60 EUR
The booking will receive a tariff of EUR 252.70
If line invoicing for a booking is set to Yes, the tariff method applied is always Calculate each shipment separately. The tariff is then always calculated per shipment.
Example - Highest tariff + additional address surcharge
There is 1 booking with 5 shipments. 4 shipments are 100 EUR, 1 shipment is 200 EUR.
The agreement is that the highest tariff is chosen + EUR 50 per additional address.
The booking will receive a tariff of EUR 400, namely EUR 200 for the shipment with the highest tariff and EUR 50 for each additional address.
Multiple tariff periods can be set per tariff group.
The Date from determines which tariff period applies. This is based on the tariff Date of the shipment. The tariff date can be set per department.
Copy tariff period
If new tariffs apply from a certain date, the tariff period can be copied.
You can copy an entire tariff period via the copy action at the top of the task bar, to the left of the red cross:
The start date and prices in the tariff scale can then be adjusted.

A-B tariff
An A-B tariff group can be selected here.
With an A-B tariff, a price (scale) can be set for a specific loading address, a specific unloading address or for a specific route.
Three A-B tariff have been set above:
An A-B tariff can also be entered under the heading Projects.
A-B tariff overruled
If this is set to yes, the A-B tariff can be used as a kind of standard tariff. The A-B tariff is then used when there is no tariff from the tariff group.
For example: The tariff region is Amsterdam to Rotterdam, but the same price applies to all other routes. Then enter * as loading address and * as unloading address for the A-B tariff and set A-B tariff overruled to Yes. The tariff in the tariff group is then first looked at. If there is nothing there, we will revert to the A-B tariff.
This cannot be set for the routes.
Main shipment method
This is useful if, for example, there is an agreement with a charter that payment is made based on the kilometers driven. Then greatest distance is a good one.
An additional address surcharge will probably have to be applied for the other shipments.
Combine discounts
Whether or not the tariff units are added to a booking in the graduated scale.
For example: A file has 3 shipments. 2 shipments each have 1 euro pallet, the last shipment has 3 euro pallets. Are scales not combined (i.e. 2x1 pallet and 1x3 pallets) or are they combined (i.e. with 5 euro pallets in the scale).
Regions
Important! Places may appear more often in the places table. Make sure the technical number matches. For example, it may be that Assen is listed twice in the location table. If Assen (with technical number 19) is included in the shipment and Assen (with technical number 37) is in the tariff group, the tariff will not be charged.
To circumvent this, you can choose to set the match by name box (under the place names tab) to Yes.
Leg group
Here you can give the specific process a name that can be found on the invoice. Instead of Groningen 3137 (as the region is called), you can call it Groningen internally.
First look at the shipment under the Financial tab.
