With the planned introduction of the Dutch toll on July 1, 2026, transport companies will face new charges based on distances traveled. To get an idea of the expected costs, it is now possible to recalculate historical trips in a test environment. This means that a static toll date can be set to recalculate trips based on this date.
To use this functionality, an update of the test environment will most likely be required.
For an accurate display of the toll costs, it is important to correctly set the vehicle properties that determine the rates.
These properties can be found at: 👉 Dutch toll - You will pay this amount
They are:

Transpas determines the vehicle profile to be used via the waterfall principle, where settings at the lowest level take precedence:
Vehicle level (trip-specific)
If the vehicle linked to the trip has a profile, that profile is used.
Found via: Vehicles -> vehicle tab -> field vehicle profile
Planning group level
If the vehicle has no profile, the profile from the planning group is used.
Found via: Planning groups -> extra parameters tab -> section route calculation -> field default vehicle profile
Company level
If no profile is set at the planning group level either, the company profile is used.
Found via: Companies -> Planning tab -> field Default vehicle profile
Please note! The vehicle profile information is the first thing Transpas look at!
For example: for vehicle X, your vehicle profile is set to electric, but the vehicle itself is set to Euro 5 for emission class and diesel for fuel. In that case, the toll price in km is calculated based on the vehicle's information, not the vehicle profile information.
More information about vehicle profiles can be found here
The toll date to be used for recalculating trips can be set in the Routing options screen.

The created routing option with the desired toll date can be set in the company screen or on a planning group.
If the routing option is set in the company screen, the toll date applies to all trips that are recalculated.
Company screen - Tab planning - planning - route calculation

If the routing option is set on a planning group, the toll date is only valid for trips recalculated within that planning group.

In the route calculation queues screen, a button has been added that allows you to select trips to be recalculated based on a from-date and to-date.

After entering a from-date and to-date, a pop-up will appear showing the trips within this selection. All trips can be selected using CTRL + A or by making a specific selection. Then click OK, and the selected trips will be placed in the trip queue.
Depending on the number of trips selected, this process may take some time. Since this is performed in the test environment, it does not affect the performance of the production environment.

Below is the selection that has been placed in the trip queue. Once the trip queue is empty again, all trips have been recalculated.

The toll costs can be found on the recalculated trip in the planning screen under the costs tab.

An overview of the toll costs for multiple trips is available in the trip costs screen.
By using the filter options for cost type and description, an overview of the recalculated trips can be created.
